July 4th Parade & Picnic The BPHA July 4th Parade and Picnic has been an annual tradition since, 1995. It a great opportunity to enjoy a day of fun with family and neighbors. This is the perfect opportunity to volunteer your time working a shift in a booth or helping to set up or take down. Call the BPHA Office to volunteer. The Braeswood Place Homeowners Association’s annual Fourth of July Parade and Picnic in 2005 was another great success. Many of your favorite games and activities were available this year. Featured events included: PARADE — Due to ongoing construction at Mark Twain, Elementary School the 2005 parade began at the Turnberry Triangle (corner of Edloe and Turnberry) and continue down Turnberry to Braes Blvd. At Braes, the parade turned right and continue towards Pershing Middle School where the party was held. The line-up for the parade will begin at 9:15 a.m. and the parade began at 9:30 a.m. Trikes, bikes, strollers, wagons, pedestrians, etc. all joined in the parade and made a spectacular red, white, and blue procession. FOOD — Chick-fil-A box lunches was served from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Orders were placed through the BPHA Office at 713-666-7248 or mail the reservation form (on reverse) by July 1 to reserve lunches. A limited number of lunches could be purchased the day of the event; however, to ensure that you and your family are able to enjoy a lunch, please make your lunch reservations early! FESTIVITIES — The party began at Pershing middle school immediately after the parade and conclude at 12:00 noon. Games, refreshments and activities including a rock wall, two moonwalks, fish pond, tic-tac-toe, petting zoo, pony rides and arts and crafts are planned this year. There was free watermelon and iced drinks for all. We also had a DJ again, with music and magic tricks. Festivities ran from 9:45 a.m. to noon.
