  Neighborhood Appearance

Neighborhood appearance of public areas within the BPHA boundaries is an active function of the homeowners association. Volunteer residents working as part of the Neighborhood Appearance Committee strive to improve BPHA esplanades and other public areas within our neighborhood as well as to coordinate their maintenance for a neat, attractive appearance.

Past projects toward these goals have been various major live oak free plantings and work days to unify the plantings on all area esplanades (1981, 1986, 1988), The Karl Young Park Improvement Project (1982-1988) and (1997-Present) and the installation of new esplanade signs to identify our area (2001).

Ongoing projects include continued tree plantings, usually in late fall or early spring, and coordination of esplanade maintenance by a private contractor.
