President's Message Genie Neukomm
It is always of great concern when we learn about car and home burglaries. Our current economy is not helping. Please pay attention to your surroundings and keep neighbors up to date on your plans. Contact the Constable Patrol if you see activity out of the norm. If you have not yet turned in your dues for the Constable Patrol program, please go online and participate with your fellow neighbors. We all need to pitch in to ensure the 24x7 Constable Program is maintained. Lights Construction The construction taking place in the central area of BPHA in areas 4 and 5 is moving along quickly and as advertised, it is messy, dusty, noisy, and disruptive. We are working with the contractor on a few issues that residents have brought to our attention, namely the condition of the staging area and one block that needs to be checked to determine if some chipping found is normal. Please feel free to contact the BPHA office if you have a question or possible issue. We can forward it to the contractor and project manager to ensure it is on the list to address. Ayrshire Construction (Areas 1 & 2) and Streetlight funds needed Contracts will be going out to bid very soon. Work to reconstruct the streets and build sidewalks will start in the Spring. We need approximately $6,000 more to cover the cost of decorative streetlights for this area. Please contribute funds toward streetlights for your area if you have not yet done so. If you need to check to see if you have donated, please send an email to the BPHA office (BPHA@sbcglobal.net) and we can verify your participation. Planning for 2010 At the last Board meeting, I described my finely developed skill of making lists. I have a list for everything and one list is dedicated to ideas for the neighborhood. It is now nearing 2 pages. It is my experience that the list improves considerably when it includes ideas from others who are also noticing neighborhood items that could use a bit of improvement and big ideas to further develop our community. Perhaps you have fond memories of a neighborhood event or program that could work in our area. We would like your input, please drop us an email.
